This toilet dual flush retrofit kit would likely work in a siphon-jet toilet with a bowl that has steep sides, but it won't do well in a toilet with a wide bottomed bowl. There just isn't enough water to get the siphon action going in such a bowl. If you look at the dual flush toilets that are made for low water consumption, you will notice that the sides of the bowl are very steep and they don't hold a lot of water. You aren't likely to like the result trying to retrofit a toilet without the steep sides. Multiple flushes won't solve the problem either.It wasn't a successful retrofit for me. I converted back to the old flapper flush. This is a second attempt to amend this review; the first amendment apparently did not get processed, although Amazon responded to it as being processed. Recently purchased a BeingWater Better Flush conversion kit from Amazon, and just finished installing it. Installation is straightforward, and requires few tools -- you should have channel-lock pliers, flat-bladed screwdriver, and (depending upon the type of toilet being converted) wrenches to fit the tank bolts on your existing toilet. BE AWARE -- the new tank bolt assemblies provided with the conversion kit will not work well with Kohler two-piece toilets (tank + throne) -- Kohler tanks mount with a gap between the tank and throne, and you also should purchase a replacement set of Kohler tank bolts/washers to use in the conversion process (about $10.00 additional). These will come with additional rubber washers, which will properly cushion and mount the Kohler tank above the throne. Otherwise, installation is just as described in the instructions; the dual fill valves are easy to adjust, and the unit works much better than most toilet valve/flapper assemblies. |
