I wish I had purchased the Bemis! Our old Bemis seat was at least two inches longer and at least an inch wider, providing a much more comfortable "seat" experience.We noticed the size difference right away, but since we had already opened the package, we couldn't return it so decided to install it anyway and make the best of it. We do not have an elongated toilet, but even so, this seat barely comes to the edge of the toilet itself. I've also noticed that because the toilet seat is so small, it becomes "soiled" much more easily, especially the back of it. And that's just nasty. Although this toilet seat is supposed to be molded wood, it appears to be more plastic than molded wood. I would say this would be a good toilet seat for children, on a child-sized toilet, but not so much for adults on a regular size toilet...
